Unpasteurized honey is used as a home remedy for many disorders such as dry cough, sore throat, and so on. Some hospitals use honey as one of the many remedies for treating different wounds. Honey that is freshly squeezed from honeycombs is the most preferred form of supplement in the medical world.

    Health Benefits

Raw or unpasteurized honey is in great demand because of the wonderful benefits it has to offer to users. They are listed below.

    • As antioxidants

Many plant chemicals are present in fresh honey and these chemicals serve as antioxidants. These are required for helping your body against all kinds of cell damage because of the presence of free radicals in the body. These free radicals have a way of damaging the skin cells and resulting in an aged look on your skin. Honey can be the best solution for this issue.

    • Nutritional Value

Raw honey is rich in many nutrients such as niacin, manganese, Flavin, zinc, calcium, magnesium, potassium, and so on. All the nutrition is required for the healthy release of bodily hormones.

    • Antifungal and antibacterial properties

The effect of honey as an antifungal and antibacterial supplement is decided based on the type of honey that you use. However, the overall effect of honey against both fungi and bacteria has made it the most preferred option for treating many issues including candida infection.

    • Wound healing mechanism

The wound healing mechanism and microbial inhibition are many effective mechanisms of honey against all bacteria and fungi. Propolis, honey, and royal jelly all have the same effects on bacteria and fungi. Hence, it is the best medicine for treating wounds.

    • Helps with the digestion issues

Some digestive issues such as diarrhea are treated with the help of honey. The stomach ulcer-causing bacteria known as Helicobacter pylori can be handled with the help of honey. While honey removes the bad bacteria from your body, it will promote the growth of good bacteria.

    Regular Honey

Regular honey is also known as organic honey and is something that you can get in the supermarkets in a bottle. These honey types are subjected to pasteurization to remove all the unwanted presence in the freshly squeezed honey such as bee remnants, flower pollen, and so on.

Studies have shown that the pasteurization process of honey makes it get exposed to high temperatures to remove all the impurities present in it. However, exposure to high temperatures can damage the natural components of honey, which serve as antibacterial and antimicrobial supplements. Hence, the maximum percentage of the population prefers fresh honey over pasteurized one.

Sometimes, honey might contain a bacteria known as clostridium botulinum. This bacterial can cause botulism in the users, which is a rare form of food poisoning. Hence, it is not suggested to give children honey in any form till they complete their 1st year.

You can buy raw honey and organic honey from the Mohawk Valley Trading Company. This is an ideal destination for finding a raw form of honey without any pasteurization. They take pride in offering honey in its best form for their customers.
